All is well when we see buyers from all over the map, globe-trotting around the city, still with their corporate buying jobs. All doing what we love to do: spot trends + shop, shop, shop.
Our ultimate goal is to create an individual "Home" that is a pleasing, peaceful place to be. After all... living well is ultimately the best revenge.

Cecil Beaton (1904-1980) was friends with the ladies who loved to pose. He was a prolific photographer, illustrator + fashion designer. Always sporting a suit, this Brit started as a staff photographer for Vogue + Vanity Fair. Life + work became intertwined as his personal circle of friends consisted of the aristocratic + glamorous elite: Audrey Hepburn, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Julie Andrews, Maria Callas... to name just a few. A true renaissance man, his works also contained portraits of: Cole Porter, Salvador Dali, Marlon Brando, Mick Jagger +Andy Warhol.

Chris Burch created an upbeat, super fun, affordable shopping experience, C. Wonder, reminiscent of the Fiorucci days of the 70's. If you can't remember that far back, try Jonathan Adler meets Kate Spade?
Looking + feeling oddly identical to his Tory Burch empire, these stores are for the label conscious groupies with clothing + home accessories priced $30-$300.
The word Amethyst comes from the Greek word "amethystos" which means "sober".
The ancient Greeks believed that the stone held many powers, including protection from intoxication.
This association with the god of wine explains the ancient custom of serving the beverage
in Amethyst goblets. The colored glass was believed to prevent overindulgence.
In clothing, ancient Royalty throughout the ages were attracted to this hue because that color dye was rare.
Clothing in the purple family, looked regal + expensive. Still does.

Countless times this holiday season I have seen stunning displays of colour, in unexpected places. Pretty hues lift my spirits + are confident statements of design.

Hard to believe the holiday week is here. It's a time for many of you to use your Dining Room for it's intended purpose! That also means it's a great time to re-evaluate your space.
