IF IT'S FEBRUARY, IT MUST BE AMETHYST
The word Amethyst comes from the Greek word "amethystos" which means "sober".
The ancient Greeks believed that the stone held many powers, including protection from intoxication.
This association with the god of wine explains the ancient custom of serving the beverage
in Amethyst goblets. The colored glass was believed to prevent overindulgence.
In clothing, ancient Royalty throughout the ages were attracted to this hue because that color dye was rare.
Clothing in the purple family, looked regal + expensive. Still does.

When choosing a lavender color for the walls in your home, proceed with caution.
Unless you are serious about being bold, the room can easily look like a young girl's room.
These images illustrate the right way to decorate maturely, with amethyst.
If you are considering adding a tad of this hue on your walls,
try a nice grayish color to get the look + to look your age.

My birthday was last week, which makes Amethyst my b'stone.
I have early memories of my parents buying me a gold ring, with a stone heart.
Honestly, never my favorite color, but when used in rooms, could look surprisingly fresh.
Enjoy the last day days of February.
One month ends, another one begins.
Bring on Spring.
