zleeps for memory foam mattresses for your bed
Preparing your bed for winter warmth has never been easier.
Those cold winter nights are fast approaching. On those evenings when the wind + the rain is lashing the window panes, I love nothing more that tucking myself away in my bedroom with a good book + a mug
of hot chocolate.
As the seasons change, I believe it’s important that our homes reflect this + that their function adapts with
the shift in weather. I’m not saying that you need to renovate your home or completely alter the design of your rooms every three months. Rather, by making a few alterations and additions, you can make your
space a cosy haven this winter.
Add Colour:
Though the warmer months call for fresh, airy spaces and light tones, the winter demands an injection of colour to help us battle the winter blues. While anything with warmth, such as dusky oranges + vibrant
purples will serve your space well, I’m particularly enthusiastic about incorporating red into winter bedroom designs.
Possibly creating a feature wall is a fast + effective way of brining colour to a space + doesn't require a complete redecoration project. The most effective walls for this would be the headboard wall or the
tv wall (if you allow a television into your retreat).
Adding Texture:
Adding textures to your space, such as heavy curtains + throws for the bed, creates a sense of multi-layering and increases the warmth and cosiness of a room. When it comes to adapting your bedroom for the winter, I cannot stress the effectiveness of bed cushions enough! A bed scattered with cushions and pillows looks plush and inviting – just the offer you want on dark, chilly evenings.
Continue the colour theme when choosing cushions and throws for your bed, although you shouldn’t worry about matching the colours perfectly. Aside from being near impossible to do, the presence of different
shades contributes to the multi-layering style that you want.
It’s also worth considering making an addition to the bed itself. A memory foam topper for your mattress is a great investment for the winter and will make your bed even more plush and comfortable. You can find these online at zleeps, which offers a 60 night trials on all of their products and free UK delivery, although international delivery is also available.
Adding Lighting:
Spending the majority of my time in the dark has to be one of my least favourite parts of the winter. That’s why I like to make the lighting of a bedroom something of a feature.
During the winter, we should be avoiding harsh, overhead lighting, which can feel cold and clinical. Aside from investing in a dimmer switch, the best option is the addition of some gorgeous side lamps, either beside the bed or on a dressing table. If you are lucky enough to have an overhead light, crystals are the way to go. They reflect elegantly + have an upscale vibe. A chandlier goes with both modern + more traditional decor.
You spend a third of your day sleeping, so making this a very comfortable experience is of utmost importance. It influences us in ways we don't even appreciate when we are awake. Making the experience as comfortable as possible is a smart investment.
