WHERE IS FALL?

I can't say I love the cold weather, but I do love my fall clothes.
Global warming is playing tricks on us!
One healthy reminder of the season is that it's getting darker, earlier.
This fashion posting is a bit different to see here.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with my background, you might not know I had a retail merchandising company for years, prior to my concentration on home design.
I must admit, I miss the fall displays of dried leaves, plastic pumpkins, apple baskets and rakes.
Welcome October.

The change of season is a "renewal" of sorts.
Living in NY I sometimes take for granted that we have seasons.
These are great opportunities to add some spice to our surroundings, as nature does naturally.
Aside from the clocks falling back (last Sunday of this month) and changing the order of the clothing in your closets, a quick way to lift spirits would be to swap-out some of your home accessory pieces. For example, decorative pillows covers made of light colored linen can be retired for a few months and replaced with ones made of soft velvets. Summer cotton throws can be temporarily tucked away to make room for the luxe cashmere variety.
Don't forget to also move around your tableware. Using china and linens daily are beautiful reminders of the season, even if you live in tight quarters.
