On-Trend Tuesdays: The Rug
Some of the most refreshing looks we have seen lately, come from the Rug industry. Taking the lead from it's trendy sister, the textiles trade, rug manufactures have realized that their products can be fashion foward. Tired are the old red oriental-type designs + IN with the INterest.
A rug pattern needn't have a long resume to add visual excitement + warmth underfoot. By adding a quailty product to the floor in any room, the marriage with fine furnishings works well. This is a patchwork combo of vintage square pieces. Lots of fabulous patterns make up this custom sized rug. Muted in color, yes, but far from dull. Since the pieces are vintage, the lead time is not long.
Another ubiquitous trend, fresh from the runways straight to the decorating elite, are Ikat patterns.
If the room can handle a modern large design, these are easy to live with + great for busy families with pets.
If color is welcomed, then these over-dyed vintage rugs can make the definitive statement.
Acid colors pack a powerful punch with a rock + roll edge. Both in solid pieces or a sewn collage from smaller squres - these are all over the market + here to stay.
