Interviewed by Vedere
Mindy Miles Greenberg, founder of Encore Decor Interior Design, has a unique style has been influenced by many creative people she’s collaborated with throughout her career.
Mindy acknowledges that each designer has their own way of viewing their world. While she has much to gloat about her own work that she describes as classically infused with lux materials, that feature clean lines and artistic elements, she humbly says, “…I’m pleased to say a little of everyone has rubbed off on me, in indescribable ways.” Even her experience working in retail design and merchandising has defined her worldly and multifaceted approach to home design.
Mindy has steadily moved forward in the industry since starting her own company. While working on HGTV for over 5 years, her clients were mostly do-it-yourselfers with very different tastes than her current clients, who simply don’t have the time to take the same hands-on approach. Though her client base may have changed, her values on working with them has remained constant. She believes the designer should be malleable and should create a designer-customer relationship that works for everyone. Trust is paramount. Mindy understands that when a designer spends a client’s money, it is a responsibility that needs to be proven time and time again. She adds, “There is no resting on laurels here.” After all, most of her business is gained from referrals and repeat clientele.
Though Mindy has had many successful projects, there is no one project that she can pinpoint as a her proudest. Her goal is to create a comfortable place for her clients to live in and enjoy. She counts on that satisfaction to gain the reputation and repeat clientele that drives her success. She said, “I consider that a way to mark my success as a designer.” Mindy likes the feeling one can has when a design can be followed from room-to-room, through the hallways and to each accessory, thus she prefers to design a whole space. Yet, the environment of any project is always considered.
Mindy Miles Greenberg represents the type of artistic and professional spirit that Vedere seeks to cultivate.
