 Known from my 5 year gig on Home + Garden Television, HGTV, I live + work in New York City designing beautifully comfortable homes.        

  

Exposed to the high + low as seen through the eyes of my Clients + Vendors, I'm extremely fortunate to be invited into their private spaces. Constantly reminded of how our surroundings are so uniquely personal + affect us so profoundly, fuels the passion for my creativity.  Living with style can be easily attained with the guidance of a trained eye + resourceful approachable Designer.

Barry Dixon + Arteriors

Arteriors is a home furnishings company that offers a prolific line of home decor.  To celebrate the opening of their expanded NYC showroom + new collaboration with designer, Barry Dixon, they threw a cocktail party.  As I was walking thru the vignettes - getting more excited with each cluster - I promised that for my next project I'm going to start backwards.  Accessories first to set the tone + then create the furnished room.  Especially now, with all the lustrous lighting options - this upside-down plan might just work brilliantly!

Here is Barry Dixon, designer + Mark Moussa of Arteriors at the launch of his new collection, NYC.

 

Looks like 2013 is off to an impassioned start:

As you can see, it's all in the lavish textural details + modern silhouettes:  Sexy burnished metals, glimmering gold + silver leafing, confident mixes of raw steel + painted woods, natural rope with shell trims, leathers with ceramics,  colored glass with plexi + of course - lots of vintage + plain mirror everywhere.  

Lux but approachable, weathered yet fresh. 
Consider it  jewelry for your home.

I love your idea of starting backward—accessories first. Might that also include art? The mood/tone/colors of a painting can be a wonderful starting point for ideas!
